Midweek Holy Communion: Wednesday 4 June

Sunday Club and Holiday Club planning: Thurs 5 June, 7pm in home of Steffi and Paul. For all Youth and Children’s team members from the Aughaval Parishes. 

 

Movie Night at the Rectory, Westport:  Friday 6 June, 7pm. Please let Revd Suzanne know if you plan to come along, for planning purposes. 


Turlough Summer Service of Remembrance and Thanksgiving: Sat 7 June at 7pm in Turlough Parish Church, F23 XN53.





Gentle Friendship Walk: Thurs 12 June, meeting at Christ Church Castlebar at 7pm. All welcome. 

 

Holiday Bible Club: Sat 21 June, from 10am. A half day fun-and-faith-building event for children. Details to follow (after 5 June). Please save the date! Friday 6 June


Summer Sunday Evening Friendship Walk: Sun 22 June, meeting at Turlough Park gate (National Museum of Ireland), Turlough Village. 


Mini-pilgrimage on Achill: Sunday 20 July, starting at St Thomas's Dugort at 3pm, with Valerie Rait (COI and TLK Pioneer Ministry). 


Reek Sunday, 27 July: Two options

  • Mountaintop service - time tbc
We are invited by our ecumenical friends to make use of the Oratory (church) on Croagh Patrick for a Church of Ireland service and we hope to be able to avail of this kind offer, with the help of Michael our bishop. (To be confirmed.)

  • Gentle walk-talk-and pray - Meet at 2.30pm at Cafe, Murrisk Carpark
For those who are not able to climb the mountain but would like to join in the day's spirit of prayer and devotion and enjoy the location, we will meet at the cafe in Murrisk Carpark at 2.30pm, for the short walk to the St Patrick statue at the foot of the Reek. 


Regular Service Pattern


Turlough Parish Church: Saturdays weekly at 7pm. Holy Communion on 2nd and 4th of month; Morning Prayer on 1st and 3rd Sundays.


·   Christ Church Castlebar: Sundays weekly at 10am – Holy Communion on 1st and 3rd of month; Morning Prayer, 2nd and 4th, followed by tea.


Holy Trinity Westport: Sundays weekly, currently in St Mary's Church, South Mall, at 12 noon, followed by tea/coffee in Carrowbeg House.


St Thomas's Dugort, Achill: Sundays weekly (April to Sept incl.) at 3pm

Return to Inishbiggle, Sat 15 February 2025

  It was especially joyful for a few of us from mainland Mayo to step foot again on Inishbiggle on 15th February, having been prevented by the weather from sailing on our last attempt at the end of November 2024. While on this occasion it was lashing in Limerick, wet in Westport, and raining cats and dogs in Castlebar, the sun was splitting the clouds gloriously on the approach to beautiful Biggle. Also uplifting was to arrive at the church and on entering to find it looking, if not transfigured, transformed - for example, with its newly-stripped and repolished pews, clean floors, doors, harmonica and walls, and a close-to-spotless vestry into the bargain. Hats off and enormous thanks to the church wardens for the hours of painstaking work - truly a labour of love for this precious and important place of gathering and worship, emanating from a sincere love for God and his people, of all faiths and persuasions.
