Jen was licensed recently by the bishop  for Local Lay Liturgical Ministry,  along with five others  from the grouped (Aughaval) parishes.  Today’s gospel    Luke 14:12-14 He said also to the one who had invited him, “When you give a luncheon or a dinner, do not invite your friends or your brothers or your relatives or rich neighbours, in case they may invite you in return, and you would be repaid. But when you give a banquet, invite the poor, the crippled, the lame, and the blind. Insights on this year's Holiday Club, 21 June

On Saturday 21 June some of us from the parishes gathered at Turlough Community Centre for this year's Holiday Club, an afternoon organised and run by the Sunday Club and Holiday Club Team with our parishes' children in mind. The afternoon included games, a Bible-based lesson on the theme of God's love, music and movement, a walk to the play park in the beautiful grounds of the National Museum of Ireland, a craft activity back in Turlough Centre, with snacks and drinks and a closing prayer before the children received goodie bags and the families left for home. Well done and sincere thanks to the team and volunteers for putting on such a successful and happy event, and thanks to parents and grandparents who brought their children along.
