About us

Welcome to the Aughaval Group of Parishes!

 "A prayerful and pastoral presence in every parish"

We are a vibrant and welcoming group of parishes (Church of Ireland tradition) located in the heart of County Mayo and on the beautiful Wild Atlantic Way. As part of the Diocese of Tuam, Limerick & Killaloe, we are committed to fostering a strong sense of community, worship, and service, rooted in the love of Christ. We seek to offer a prayerful and pastoral presence in every parish.

Our Mission

At the Aughaval Group of Parishes, we aim to:
  • provide a space for meaningful Christian worship and spiritual growth;
  • grow a supportive, organic and inclusive spiritual community for all ages and backgrounds;
  • actively engage in outreach and service, reflecting God’s love to and in the wider community.
In addition to this we seek to uphold and pursue the Five Marks of Mission of the Anglican Communion. (See https://www.anglicancommunion.org/mission/marks-of-mission.aspx.)

"The Five Marks of Mission:

The mission of the Church is the mission of Christ
  1. To proclaim the Good News of the Kingdom
  2. To teach, baptise and nurture new believers
  3. To respond to human need by loving service
  4. To transform unjust structures of society, to challenge violence of every kind and pursue peace and reconciliation
  5. To strive to safeguard the integrity of creation, and sustain and renew the life of the earth

The first Mark of Mission, identified with personal evangelism at the Anglican Consultative Council in 1984 (ACC-6) is a summary of what all mission is about, because it is based on Jesus’ own summary of his mission. This should be the key statement about everything we do in mission."
