Today's gospel, plus Pioneer Ministry Info Day
Today's Gospel Matthew 5:33-37
[Jesus said] ‘Again, you have heard that it was said to those of ancient times, “You shall not swear falsely, but carry out the vows you have made to the Lord.” But I say to you, Do not swear at all, either by heaven, for it is the throne of God, or by the earth, for it is his footstool, or by Jerusalem, for it is the city of the great King. And do not swear by your head, for you cannot make one hair white or black. Let your word be “Yes, Yes” or “No, No”; anything more than this comes from the evil one.

Pioneer Ministry Info Day
Today some of those of us from this side of the diocese are meeting in Claremorris for a Pioneer Ministry Info Day.
Rev. Alistair Doyle (Galway) says about this day and a similar one for the other/ Limerick side of the diocese, "The day is to help us cast the net wider and update everyone on the Pioneer Ministry people and projects across the Island." The day will "... provide opportunities for our churches to think about how they could be pioneering in their setting, and ways in which each parish can support the Diocesan Pioneer Minister, Valerie Raitt, and the Diocesan Pioneer Ministry Project of Pilgrimage and Spiritual Tourism."
Two representatives from our Aughaval Group of Parishes will attend, along with the Rector. These two "champions" will help bring back to our parishes a report, and share insights from the day relevant to our group of churches and settings.
Here in the Aughaval Parishes, our first official Pilgrimage event, organised in conjunction with and as part of the Diocesan Pioneer Ministry Project, is planned for Sunday 20 July on Achill, starting at St Thomas's Dugort at 3pm. Details to follow very soon!
