Today's gospel Mark 11:27-33
Again they came to Jerusalem. As he [Jesus] was walking in the temple, the chief priests, the scribes, and the elders came to him and said, ‘By what authority are you doing these things? Who gave you this authority to do them?’
Jesus said to them, ‘I will ask you one question; answer me, and I will tell you by what authority I do these things. Did the baptism of John come from heaven, or was it of human origin? Answer me.’ They argued with one another, ‘If we say, “From heaven”, he will say, “Why then did you not believe him?” But shall we say, “Of human origin”?’—they were afraid of the crowd, for all regarded John as truly a prophet. So they answered Jesus, ‘We do not know.’ And Jesus said to them, ‘Neither will I tell you by what authority I am doing these things.’

"When they put their minds to it, the Pharisees had a great talent for setting people against each other. They tried to engage Jesus in discourse and unrest, but he turned the trouble back on them. When we feel ourselves producing more disharmony than concord, we pray that you may give us the wisdom which you yourself displayed so often to create goodwill and benevolence instead of strife.

The Church’s Ministry of Healing Ireland
CMHI invites everyone to sign up for its new series, God’s Compassion; Self-Compassion, created and facilitated by Lydia Monds.
The series offers four live sessions on Wednesdays from 17 June to 8 July, 7.30-8.15pm, and four pre-recorded videos, available to watch at any time.
When we criticise ourselves harshly for “not being good enough,” we deny ourselves the lovingkindness that God offers, and which never falters or fails.
Join Lydia as she gently guides us through prayerful practices that can help us to follow the call to live like Christ, who spoke to those he met from a place of radical compassion. Book via www.ministryofhealing.ie or email lydia@ministryofhealing.ie

Bringing faith to life through Muddy Church
‘Muddy Church’, ‘Messy Church’ and 'Forest Church' are fun yet serious all-age faith-building innovations, tried-and-tested in other parishes and places over many years. With the help of our Youth and Children's Ministry team, we plan to introduce variations and aspects of these expressions in the parishes, as occasional and supplemental to traditional services in these summer months, for the benefit especially of our children and young families.
Please continue to pray for our young people, and, 'Watch this (outdoor) space!'
